Scheduled for its references to medications, sex and suicide, the story recounts a kid who discovers he's the proprietor of a case of tapes recorded by his cohort, Hannah, who has ended it all. Hannah clarifies that there are 13 reasons why she did what she did, and Clay is one of them. The writer presented this strong reaction: "The very day I discovered 'Thirteen Reasons Why' was the third most-tested book, I got an email from a peruser asserting my book shielded her from ending it all. I dare any control to tell that young lady it was improper for her to peruse my book.
