I loved the pillars of the earth and a pillar of fire for the historical side and character strength of the characters. Great was my disappointment in noting that neither one nor the other end up in a world without end. The plot is really tasteless and the characters are bland. really disappointed.
I had a little trouble initially to go down in history. I was much too attached to the characters of the pillars of the earth ... but by becoming accustomed little by little to those there, I am going back in the history and I made a magnificent voyage in the time thanks to this book .
I did not like the voice of the author for the voices of women or children (3/5 according to me) but for the rest his voice is still good history. It was not unpleasant for all that.
I recommend it to you. Good listening to all.
I found the pillars of the earth a bit long but interesting but it is too long and the story is really uninteresting. The characters are tasteless. But I do not deny Ken Follett for all that remains a talented writer for many other books. I'll leave it there for the Middle Ages and him. I find it much better in the 19th and 20th century.
As always with ken follett we are transported in its history and we live the loves and emm .... of his characters.
I must say that I loved the finale of this book where a good part of the stories become very interesting intrigues that will be excellent in the next.
